Synopsis of the " Forgotten, or Forgiven "

　　This is a story about the dark history of the past 55 years that Taiwanese people ruled by the KMT [ Nationalist Party ] government. According to the field research, many scholars estimate there are there hundred thousand people were killed , or jailed because of their attitude or behavior that against the monarch party.

　　Today, a cop met a girl in a coup . The cop almost shot the girl , and the girl refused to help him. The cop saved the girl's father in a misery traffic accident. And the girl began to be interested in him . The girl's father was a KMT agent in the early days who caught and tortured those political prison, and however, even took the women or the money away, in those dark years.

　　The father gave up his jobs after his wife found the truth and committed suicides . The truth means she, a political prison too,  was cheated and her fiance may still alive in the jail. After mother's dead, for more than 10 years, the girl and her father seldom or never met. The girl has no idea of what happen to her mother and what her father had done. She only knows mother hates father. The father build up a compound on the mountain side,  and spent all of his money to take care of a few political prisons while they became crazy people.

　　Among those crazy people, there is an old man who is the father of the cop. Actually both the parents of the cop were political prisons when the girl's father did his job 40 years ago. So , the father is the cop's enemy. More than this. While the cop's mother was released after 9 years in jail,  and also be informed that her husband was drowned in a failed escape , she met a pediatrician who cured her child's disease. The rich pediatrician is an amateur musician who loves to  play the saxophone. The cop's mother was falling in love with him after a few encounters. Unfortunately a crooked police officer of the precinct stepped in , and caused a tragedy. This police officer visited the cop's mother, in the name of the safety checking that also make fun to himself, and was humiliated by the pediatrician on that occasion. This police officer reported to the girl's father, and persuade him to arrest the pediatrician. According to the " Spy  Clearance Regulation " by the law, every penny belongs to the prison should be divided into 3 , and the coordinators can share it with the government. The pediatrician became a poor man after he was crazy and released.
